FAQs

What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy aims to identify and treat the root cause of your health concern - rather than mask your symptoms. We use nutrition, lifestyle, supplementation and herbal medicine to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. We treat the body as a whole, rather than each part separately.

What’s involved in my first appointment?

Thorough assessment to gather a holistic understanding of your case. we will discuss your health concerns and goals, health history, sleep, stress, diet, and exercise routine. this is a good time to bring in any previous pathology or medical reports you may have. at the end of the appointment, we will put together a personalised treatment plan that addresses your specific health concerns and goals. This will generally involve a combination of herbal tonics, dietary changes, nutritional supplements, exercise and/or stress management techniques. Referrals for further testing may be required.

How often will I need to come back?

Each case is different. Generally, follow-up appointments are scheduled 3-4 weeks after your initial treatment plan is implemented. After your first 3 appointments, follow-ups are often scheduled 6-8 weeks apart. However, it depends on your case and needs.

Is Naturopathy covered under private health?

Private health companies were banned from issuing rebates for Naturopathy in 2019 despite increased patient demand and clinical effectiveness from qualified Naturopathic practitioners.

Unfortunately, the Naturopath title is not regulated in Australia and therefore, anyone can practice under this title without any qualifications. Private health funds previously only issued provider numbers to those with professional experience, who were registered with a professional body and were required to have professional development, a valid first aid certificate, and insurance. However, even these practitioners are also no longer claimable with ANY private health fund.

i need to see a naturopath but i can’t afford it. what can i do?

We understand that the current cost of living, inflation, and the lack of private health rebates can impact accessibility to naturopathic treatment. please let us know if cost is a barrier to starting or continuing treatment. we are always happy to organise alternative arrangements in the form of payment plans and/or concession discounts.

i’d prefer to see you in person. do you offer in person appointments?

Yes! we have a physical clinic location for in-person appointments located in kalbarri western australia. find us inside the studio beauty and wellness.
